Big Book of Bondage and My Review of "Prey" by Madeline Elayne

Hey, I'm in this book!

The Big Book of Bondage is edited by Alison Tyler, and like all Alison Tyler books, it's a really great read.  She knows erotica and I can always count on her to bring me some of the hottest stuff around.  Hey, she isn't called "The trollop with a laptop" for nothing!  (And, by the way, because of all that, I'm always bowled over when I get a piece in one of her books.)

So, to promote the book, Alison asked us to review each other's stories.  My story, "Cute Boy Gets Squeezed" was reviewed by Tilly Hunter on Alison's blog, but you can read the whole review here.

I've reviewed Madeline Elayne's story, "Prey."  (Late as usual.)

“Prey” by Madeline Elayne

This is hot.  This is not the way I play; I’m a pussycat compared to Jia, but make no mistake, this story is hot.

Jia likes the chase.  She likes the take down, but she definitely likes the chase.  Once she sends her boy a message, letting him know she wants to play, the game, as they say, is afoot.  He makes intricate plans for the time and place and layout of the chase.  He’s careful to schedule the game for a Friday, leaving himself a whole weekend to recover – because he knows he’ll need it.

His attention to detail is phenomenal and, if not for a tiny accident, everything would have played out the way he planned.  But, in actuality, the glitch probably enhances things, in the long run.

Jia plays rough; she’s a lioness, but unlike the wild cat, she knows just how far she can go without breaking her toys.  Her boy is no mouse, though.  He gives as good as he gets until he’s bound too tightly to do any more damage, but you know this is the way they like it.

One of my favorite lines in this story is so universal to femdom, BDSM, bondage and rough sex that it made me chuckle:  I marveled, not for the first time, that the little brain in my pants really did have less than zero common sense.

This is a story about the hunt and the action is breath-taking.  Once the chase is over and the prey is well and truly caught and immobilized, you can only imagine the hours of fun yet to come.  As a lover of hot, exciting femdom, this story tweaks all the right nerve endings.

The Seductive Succubus Blog Tour

Hello Everyone and welcome to the first day of the Seductive Succubus Blog Tour for my anthology, Seductress: Erotic Tales of Immortal Desire!
I suppose, being the editor, it makes sense that I kick it off.  We’ve got a lot of interesting stops along the way and I’ll tell you about them shortly.  First, though, I’d like to tell you a little about the book.

Seductress is first and foremost a book about succubi.  It makes sense, right?  After all, a succubus is a creature built around carnality.  She’s so sexy and seductive, no one can say no to her.  She’s made that way for a reason; she needs sex to live.  She needs to absorb another’s culmination of sexual ecstasy, (read: orgasm) or she will fade away and cease to exist.  It’s sad, but true.

I’m sure you can imagine how difficult it must be to find willing human males (and females) to have sex with, especially when you’re drop-dead gorgeous.

Yeah.  Me neither… Hence the reason it makes sense to put an erotica anthology together around the subject.

Second, and here’s why it makes sense for me to put such an anthology together: succubi, by their very nature, are dominant.  Yeah, even I didn’t see that one coming.  Well, ya live and learn.  But it makes sense.  She needs what she needs and so she directs the action to make sure she gets it.  Sure, she can, and sometimes does, let the guy think he’s in charge.  Well, you know, a lot of them like that, so I suppose it makes her life easier, but make no mistake: she’s the boss.

So, what will you find in Seductress: Erotic Tales of Immortal Desire?  Here is a small sampling of some of the hotness between the covers:

Evan Mora’s fiendish “Starcrossed” casts Romeo and Juliet as the undead, forever cruising for what they crave.

Kaysee Renee Robichaud’s “A Surprising Summons” is both extremely erotic and heartbreakingly painful at the same time.

Aurelia T. Evans’s “Harvest” is all a submissive boy’s heart needs.  Well, maybe not his heart, exactly.  Perhaps something a bit lower down.

Trust me, you want this book.

But don’t take my word for it.  Check out the rest of the blog tour for different takes on the subject.  You’ll visit some of the authors, fans of erotica and people who like their stories a little on the dark side.  There’ll be an interview or two with me, as well.  I, for one, can’t wait to read each post.

The Next Big Thing

Jolynn Raymond (http://jolynnraymond.com/) tagged me on The Next Big Thing!  Thanks Jolynn.  By the way, your book sounds fantastic.

The Next Big Thing is a "freeze tag" style blog hop that's been going around all over the place.  If you get tagged, fill out the questions on your own blog with regard to your upcoming writing project, then tag five additional authors, linking to their blogs or websites, and don't forget to let them know they've been tagged.

THE TEN QUESTIONS:

1. What is the working title of your book?

The Actual title is Under Her Thumb: Erotic Stories of Female Domination

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

The vast majority of my work is femdom and I've wanted to do a femdom anthology since I began editing for Cleis Press and the time was finally right!

3. What genre does your book fall under?

BDSM Erotica/Female Domination

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

As an anthology of short stories, I can't really answer this question.  I suppose, thinking about my own story in the book, "Hound and Hare," how about Helena Bonham Carter and Ethan Hawke.  I don't know, that's sort of 'spur of the moment.'

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Twenty stories of female domination, curated by D. L. King, with a foreword by Midori, from the sweetly romantic to the scarily hot.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Under Her Thumb: Erotic Stories of Female Domination is published by Cleis Press.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

I only wrote one of the short stories, but if you're interested in knowing how long it took me to edit the book, from the initial call for submissions to the final corrected galleys -- about six months.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

You could compare this book to another of my favorite anthologies, Please, Ma'am: Erotic Stories of Male Submission, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel and also published by Cleis Press.

9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I'm a dominant woman in real life and I like to read femdom, as well as write it.  As I mentioned earlier, as a writer, it's my predominant theme so I desperately wanted to edit an anthology of nothing but femdom.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

Whether you're male or female, if strong women make you weak in the knees or, if you are a dominant woman and love to see a man or woman worshipping at your feet, you're going to want to read this book!

Reading at Sh! in London

Yes, I know, this actually happened last month -- actually almost a full month ago, but I keep telling you I'm a crappy blogger.  It's taking me a while to get all the pictures sorted and these aren't the best ones of the readers floating around out there, but I did really want to get them up here so the three of you who read this blog could see them!  So, here we are, fresh from reading at the Sh! Women's Store in Hoxton Square.

From left to right are Jacqueline Brocker, Jacqueline Applebee, K D Grace, moi, Janine Ashbless and N J Streitberger.  This is our staid pose with the Sh! wall of toys as an apt backdrop.  Yes, that is one of the signature Sh! girls' glasses of pink bubbly in my hand.  I must say, they kept that glass well-filled! (Thank you, Joanna!)  You might notice that Remittance Girl is conspicuously absent.  We started taking pictures before realizing she'd ducked outside for a quick one (not going to say quick what, though).

And here she is now!  Yes, we are holding, or brandishing (depending on your point of view) cocks.  Well, it is a sex shop, after all.  N J, as the lone male in the picture, got to lovingly hold a velour vulva.

This was such a wonderful evening.  We had quite a crowd but still, I wish you could have all been there -- all three of you.
Reader not pictured: Ciara Finn

And by the way, I was so late getting there.  I'd spent the entire day at the Tower of London.

What an amazing museum.  Here was our Beefeater guide.

I spent all sorts of time wandering.  I saw the crown jewels and spent the majority of the time in the armory.  I'll post all my tower pictures on facebook soon (I promise).  I spent so much time in the armory that I didn't even have time to see the bloody tower at all!  Yes, that's the place I really, really wanted to see and I didn't get to.  It's just that the armor was so amazing, I couldn't drag myself away.  Then I looked at the time and realized I had to run back to the hotel to change for the reading!  (Next visit for the Bloody Tower!)

So, I got back to the hotel, changed and primped and went downstairs to ask about a cab.  It was rush hour and the cab company said it would take 45 minutes to get there, which was exactly how long I had before the scheduled start, so I hopped back on the tube.  I didn't check the address again and got off at the wrong stop, ten minutes before the reading was to begin.  I asked a cop where the address was and he'd never heard of it (can you imagine?) so I grabbed a cab and told him where I wanted to go.  I was a ways away, as you might imagine.  He got me there about ten minutes late, but most everyone was late.  Evidently the traffic was really bad.  Yay!  So, after I stopped sweating and got rehydrated, and everyone else arrived, we had the best reading ever.  I can't wait to do it again!

Thanks Sh! Girlz.

Hey, I have a hot fem dom story in this book, Ageless Erotica, edited by Joan Price.  Here's a copy of her latest blog about the upcoming release.  Don't you just lurve the cover?

Ageless Erotica coming soon!

I'm thrilled to announce that Ageless Erotica will come out at the end of February 2013 from Seal Press! In this groundbreaking anthology, 29 writers age 50+ write steamy erotica featuring sexy characters who are also age 50+.

This is not your usual erotica with a few wrinkles slapped on -- these are stories that show how hot sex can be at our age. This collection embraces the agelessness of sexuality while still realistically acknowledging the changes that accompany aging.

Some selections are tender and loving, while others are edgy and kinky. But whether characters are going solo, having spicy sex with partners they love and have loved for decades, or engaging in casual encounters, every story included in these pages aims to arouse and to rejoice in the sensual side of aging.

Ageless Erotica is a stimulating celebration of the many pleasures of “well-seasoned” sex.

Blackpool!

Yes, I know, I've been back for a week now and I'm just getting to blogging about my trip to Britain.  But I've told you on many occasions that I'm a crap blogger so it's your own fault if you were thinking you'd get this sooner. (Yes, when all else fails, blame the viewer...)

I went to work on Monday, the 19th and left for the airport that evening.   Got to London at 8 in the morning, took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station, then the tube to Euston Station to wait for my train to Blackpool.  I arrived around threeish in the afternoon and grabbed a cab to my hotel.  This is a picture of Blackpool outside my window!

I love Blackpool.  I love the rock and the fish and chips and the beach, but mostly I love getting to see Ashley Lister and his family.  We've been friends for years but I don't get across the pond very often to visit.  This time I ate the best fish and chips ever at Harry Ramsden's. I wandered around with the two Ashleys.  I spoke about editing and publishing to a class of creative writing students at Blackpool and Fylde College.  I bought lots of Blackpool rock and I had the privilege of reading at one of the coolest erotic readings ever at the #5 Cafe.  For better or worse, Ashley the younger recorded several of the readings and two of mine appear on You Tube.  You can watch me read an excerpt from my story "Whore" (One Night Only, edited by Violet Blue for Cleis Press) and my story "Hound and Hare" from my upcoming anthology, Under Her Thumb (Cleis Press).

You might also enjoy a reading of Ashley Lister's story, "Kiss and Make Up" from my anthology, The Sweetest Kiss (Cleis Press).  This one was read by Vicky Ellis.  Or perhaps Remittance Girl's "The Dark Garden" from Coming Together Presents Remittance Girl. There were more recordings made and if they are put up on You Tube, I'll include them here.

I'll tell you all about my trip to London and my cheap day return to Paris in the next installment.
